How long does it take to install the Smart VOC Oxider?
Installation and commissioning of an oxidizer implemented in a sea container is easy, and takes a couple of days in practise.


What do RCO and RTO stand for?
RCO is a shortening of Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer and RTO of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer. These are the most common methods in VOC destruction with incineration. RCOs offer several advantages especially with low VOC concentrations, thanks to relative low oxidation temperature.

There are some doubts about quality and durability of the catalyst technology. What kind of a catalyst is used in Smart VOC Oxidizers?
These doubts originate from first generation basic metal catalysts that were sensitive for so-called catalyst poisons. We use new generation noble metal catalysts with high platinum and palladium loading. The higher the PGM loading, the more active and durable the catalyst is. These PGM (Platinum Group Metals) catalysts can tolerate high temperatures of up to 1000°C and also catalyst poisons, and have life expectancy of more than 15 years. The similar chemical composition of catalysts is tried and tested in millions of cars and trucks.

Which control system is used in Smart VOC Oxidizers?
Beckhoff control system is used as a standard solution. This control unit is easy-to-use and also equipped with remote control and timing options. Placing of the control unit can be freely chosen and start-up is possible from the customer's process, if required. Other control systems, like Siemens are also possible upon request.

Can the valves in my process be controlled by the Smart VOC Oxidizer?
Yes, and it is done in most of the cases. You can have normal I/O information from the oxidizer and it is easy to add control of the customer's valves also.

Can I have stack emission statistics information out of the Smart VOC Oxidizer?
Gathering of stack emission information can be implemented according to the specific requirements, for example measured in a desired inteval, or continuously. 

How hot is the Smart VOC Oxidizer?
The minimum inner temperature of the oxidizer reactor is relatively low, in the range of 300-350°C. Anyway the incoming gas concentration may increase the inner temperature even up to 700°C.

How high is the surface temperature of the Smart VOC Oxidizer?
The container surface temperature remains in a really low level, only somewhat higher than the surrounding air. The reactor surface temperature inside the container may rise to 50-70°C on the upper 30 cm area of the reactor.
